Pirelli's most green technology to reduce emissions from diesel engines is a combination of SCR technology, for the reduction of Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) which is one of the major pollutants in the air, Hydrocarbons (HC) and Carbon Monoxide (CO) and of DPF technology which reduces Particulate Matter (PM).
Thanks to the combination of SCR and DPF Technology FEELPURE™ DOWNOX™ allows EURO II-III-IV vehicles to meet EURO V for all regulated emissions.

FEELPURE™ DOWNOX™, for PM emissions reduction, integrates the FEELPURE™ AR (Aided Regeneration) technology, the optimal DPF solution for urban applications characterized by very low temperature exhaust gases.
FEELPURE™ AR is the advanced aided regeneration technology developed by the engineers of the Pirelli Group for urban and Stop & Go applications with low exhaust gas temperatures.
The aided regeneration consists in introducing external energy into the system (glow-plugs) to start the combustion of the sooth trapped into the filter from 160°C.
FEELPURE™ DOWNOX™ combines peak performance in terms of environmental reductions with an ultra-compact system architecture that minimises the issues involved in installation and maintenance.
The compact size and generally limited space available to install extra components are common features in urban vehicles and FEELPURE™ DOWNOX™ technology has been principally designed with this in mind.

The FEELPURE™ DOWNOX™ exhaust module groups the SCR catalyst and DPF filter into a single, ultra-compact assembly. The module is then adapted according to the specific mechanics of the vehicle in order to optimise not only the fluid dynamics of the gases, but also to ease installation and maintenance.
