Pirelli & C. Ambiente Eco Technology operates successfully in the area of technologies for sustainable development thanks to the many years of experience acquired by Cam Tecnologie in low environmental impact fuels with GECAM™, the "white diesel" and through anti-particulate filter technologies with the Feelpure™ filter system.

Gecam™ is a water (10%) and diesel oil emulsion for transport and heating, which reduces particulate emissions by 50%.

Feelpure™ is a system formed of a silicon carbide filter applicable to diesel vehicles already in circulation (buses and good vehicles) and can reduce particulate emissions by over 90%.

To produce and sell Gecam™ throughout Italy, Pirelli Ambiente Eco Technology has signed partnership agreements with several of the major oil companies. Similar agreements have been set up in other countries such as France and the Czech Republic. In France Pirelli Ambiente Eco Technology operates through its subsidiary Gecam France.

From the second half of 2008 onwards, Pirelli Ambiente Eco Technology will also be active in the market for filters for new vehicles. 

Through the technologies it has developed, Pirelli Ambiente Eco has set itself the objective of drastically reducing particulate emissions of diesel engines and thermal power stations, by providing solutions to improve air quality in urban centres.

Pirelli Ambiente Eco Technology is a member of the European Emulsion Fuel Manufacturers' Association (EEFMA) and the Italian Particulate Filter Manufacturers' Association (AIFP).

Pirelli Ambiente Eco Technology is ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certified.
